Ursuline College began producing a fine arts magazine in 1945. Every spring since then, the English Department, in conjunction with the Art Department, publishes
Inscape, an award-winning magazine featuring the writing and artwork of students, faculty, and staff of the College. Submissions, including essays, reviews, poems, short stories, photographs, and artwork, are evaluated by an editorial staff made up of students and supervised by a faculty member of the English Department.
Literary pieces must be submitted in both hard copy form (English Department, Mullen 338) and electronically (
inscape@ursuline.edu). The dates for submission are October 1-December 1 of each year. Please give all artwork submissions to Sr. Rosaria Perna, O.S.U., M.F.A., in the Art Department (Fritzsche Center). For more information and to apply for a staff position, please contact Sr. Cynthia Glavac, O.S.U., Ph.D. at 440 646 8152 or
cglavac@ursuline.edu.
This year's issue earned a First Class Honor Rating from the
Associated Collegiate Press, including Marks of Distinction for concept and writing/editing. Among content, "Baby Blues," by Patti Fish Stephens, and "Wisconsin," by Jason Rutledge, in particular, were noted for their excellence.
