School of Arts and Sciences | Religious Studies Diaconate Candidates

Credit Transfer Policy for Diaconate Candidates:

Courses completed with a grade C or better can be transferred to Ursuline College.

If all 48 quarter hours of credit and/or semester hours are satisfactorily completed, 32 semester hours of Religious Studies credits will be received.

The conversion of these credits into Ursuline College credits will be completed for a fee of $100. This occurs upon the completion of the entire Diaconate Formation Program.

Men who want to become degree-seeking students at Ursuline College will then begin the standard matriculation procedures at the college. Those who already hold a bachelor's degree and who wish to apply to a graduate level program in theology, ministry, religious studies, etc. may then have these credits appear in an official transcript.

The current financial aid policy at Ursuline College will be maintained on behalf of the ordained Deacons of the diocese, namely, a 40% tuition reduction on all undergraduate courses taken at Ursuline College.

Deacons who become degree-seeking students at Ursuline will have the 32 credits of Religious Studies applied to the major in Religious Studies or to the general elective credits applicable to the 128 credits required for graduation if another major is chosen.
