Accounting

Building on their strong liberal arts foundation, students of accounting will pursue proficiency in both accounting and business administration. The curriculum is designed to satisfy the needs of individuals interested in management accounting and earning their Certificate of Management Accounting (CMA), in public accounting and sitting for the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) exam and in attending graduate school. Students achieve proficiency in the use of analytic techniques for defining and solving a variety of accounting and management problems at the same time that they refine their communication skills. Students should graduate with an appreciation for and dedication to the social and ethical responsibilities of an accounting or financial manager.
