is director and associate professor of the public relations and marketing communications degree program. For 26 years, she worked in nonprofit and corporate marketing, public relations, development and communications positions at major arts and nonprofit organizations, the utility and banking industries, in healthcare and in higher education in northeast Ohio. A 2013 recipient of the Davis Young Award for Excellence in Mentoring from the Public Relations Society of America, Dr. Hammel’s area of research interests are the impact of electronic media on relationally aggressive behaviors of adolescent girls and moral reasoning in decision making in business students and professionals. Her published work can be found in a variety of educational and professional journals.
