Ursuline Bowling signs Pittsburgh native Kelsie Kirchartz

Kelsie KirchartzPEPPER PIKE, OHIO - The Ursuline College Bowling program, which competed in its first season this past winter, has announced the signing of Plum High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., senior Kelsie Kirchartz, who will join the Arrows in the fall of 2010.

Kirchartz was a four-year letterwinner and led her team to three Pennsylvania State Tournament appearances, where they collected the team championship in 2007. She was a Teen Masters National Finalist in 2007 and 2009.

Kirchartz was also a Junior Gold National Finalist in 2008 and 2010. At Plum High School, she finished seventh in singles during the State Tournament in 2008. She was First Team All-State three out of four years at Plum.

In her last season as a senior, Kirchartz won the WPIBL League MVP Award and also claimed the High Average Award.

"Kelsie was my top target during my many trips to the Pittsburgh area this past season," said Head Coach Joe Ciarrochi. "She has national bowling experience and shows great leadership skills that will come in handy as our young team develops competitive chemistry next year."

Kirchartz plans to study Nursing at Ursuline.
