Five Arrows Receive All-Conference Honors
November 3, 2009
The American Mideast Conference has announced its 2009 Women's Soccer All-Conference honors. Junior
Jaimie Grindle (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) was named to the AMC All-First Team, while four other Ursuline College Arrows were named to various All-Conference Teams.
Grindle, who is the conference leader in goals scored (16), goals per game (0.89), points (38), and points per game (2.11), earns her second first team selection in her three seasons at Ursuline. She owns the only two first team selections in the programs history. Her goals per game is the best single-season average in school history.
Freshman goalkeeper
Rachael Smith (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) was named to the AMC All-Third Team. Smith went 9-7-2 with 86 saves. The nine wins and 31 points are both single-season records for the Ursuline soccer team. She also started all 18 games on the season and recorded four shutouts (three wins and a double-overtime scoreless tie).
Lexi Adamo (Mentor, Ohio/Cornerstone Christian), Leah Sweet (Groveport, Ohio/Madison Christian) and
Danielle Turosky (Eastlake, Ohio/Eastlake North) were listed as Honorable Mentions. Adamo, Turosky and Grindle were Honorable Mention's last season.
