Jason Kubbins - Head Soccer Coach

Phone: 440-684-6095 - E-mail: jkubbins@ursuline.edu

Jason Kubbins recently finished his fifth year as the Head Coach of the Ursuline Women's Soccer program. Over the first three seasons (2006-08), the Arrows managed a record of only 14-36-1. However, with his recruiting efforts and established style of play integrated into his program, Ursuline won a team record nine games in 2009, only to be topped in 2010 with 10 wins. The Arrows have gone 19-14-2 over the last two seasons, despite a very young roster and untimely injuries this past season.

Under his watch, Ursuline had its first ever Freshman of the Year and All-Conference First Team player in Jaimie Grindle (2007). Since then, Grindle has added another AMC First Team selection, while the team as a whole has had three second team selections, one third team selection, 13 honorable mentions, three scholar-athletes, and two AMC Player of the Week honors.

Kubbins spent the 2005 season as an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for Walsh University. He helped guide the team to an 11-6-2 record along with their first playoff appearance in 5 years.

Kubbins played collegiate soccer at Walsh University and was the team's starting goalkeeper for 3 seasons. While at Walsh, Kubbins earned 1st Team All-Ohio and 2nd Team All-American Mideast Conference honors his junior year. During his senior year, he was Honorable Mention All-American Mideast Conference. Kubbins led a Walsh defense that was consistently among the top 20 in goal against average in the NAIA.

Kubbins began his coaching career with the Canton International soccer club in 1996. In 2001, Kubbins began his college coaching career with the Notre Dame College men's program as an assistant. In 2002, he was a Walsh University assistant for the men's program before moving on to be the North Canton Hoover High School Varsity girl's assistant in 2003. Jason returned to the college ranks with the Walsh University Women's Team in 2005. His other coaching experience includes Great Britain Buckeye Soccer Camps, The Green Soccer Association, Soccer Plus Goalkeeper Schools and goalkeeper instructor for the Ohio North Youth Soccer Association. Currently, Kubbins is a staff coach and goalkeeping instructor for the Akron Metro Futbol Club and Internationals Soccer Club.

Kubbins graduated from Walsh University with a degree in History, and also earned a Masters Degree form Walsh in Education. He holds the NSCAA National Diploma, Advanced National Diploma, Premier Diploma, National (Level III) Goalkeeping Diploma, and the USSF National 'C' Coaching License. Kubbins resides in Norton, OH with his wife Amy.
