In game one, Ciara Seymour (New Port Richey, Fla./JW Mitchell HS) guided the Arrows to a win on the mound and at the plate. Offensively she drove in three runs and scored twice in two at bats. On the mound, Seymour threw seven innings, giving up three runs on seven hits. She struck out two and did not walk a runner. On the other side, Case pitching issued seven walks, including Miranda Boggs Madison, Ohio/Madison HS) twice.
?Ciara stepped up when she had to,? said Head Coach Sue Woodford. ?After giving up the homerun her competitiveness came through, and she got a big hit, drove in two runs and put us back in the lead to win the game.?
In game two, Hillary Beachy (Warren, Ohio/Champion HS), Britney Mascia (South Euclid, Ohio/Brush HS), and Seymour each collected two hits, but a three-run fourth inning for Case put the game just out of reach for Ursuline to comeback, as the Arrows left 11 runners on base.
Ursuline will return to action with scheduled doubleheaders against Kenyon College (Tuesday, March 23) and Geneva College (Saturday, March 27) on the road, while the Arrows will open their home schedule on Friday, March 26th against Thiel College. Game one is schedule to start at 3:30 p.m.
