In game one, the Pioneers jumped out to an early 3-0 after the top half of the first inning. However, Ursuline answered with two on two-run double by Miranda Boggs (Madison, Ohio/Madison). Kristen Roznoski (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch HS), who doubled to lead off the inning, and Hillary Beachy (Warren, Ohio/Champion), who singled prior to Boggs double, both scored.
Point Park and Ursuline continued to put up runs, and at the end of the third inning the Pioneers led 6-4. Point Park put up three in the fifth and four in the seventh to secure the victory, despite the Arrows holding strong with two in the bottom of the sixth.
Beachy had three hits in the game, while Roznoski, Boggs and Kami Weikel (Mt. Vernon, Ohio/Mt. Vernon) each had two hits.
In game two, the teams again exchanged scores as Point Park had single runs in the second, fourth, sixth and seventh innings, while plating three in the third. Ursuline had single runs in the third, fifth and seventh, while putting up two in the second.
Ciara Seymour (New Port Richey, Fla./J.W. Mitchell) had a team-high two hits in the game, while scoring once and driving in another.
Ursuline will continue its busy week at home against Baldwin-Wallace on Thursday, April 8 at 3:30 p.m. with a doubleheader. Then on Saturday, April 10, Ursuline will host AMC opponent Cedarville starting at 1:00 p.m.
