Ursuline earns two event titles at AMC Championships

NORTH CANTON, OHIO - The Ursuline College Track & Field Program competed at the American Mideast Conference Championships this weekend at Walsh University. The meet was highlighted by
Jaimie Grindle (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth), who won an individual conference title and qualified for nationals in the 400 meter dash, and the 4x400 relay team, which also won a AMC Title.
Grindle, who also qualified for the NAIA National Championships with the her performance over the weekend, ran the 400-meter dash in a Ursuline record time of 57.97 seconds. She topped her own previous school record of 58.43 seconds which she set one week prior.
Last week the 4x100 relay team of
Tanisha Williams (Springfield, Ohio/Troy),
Lauren Hollis (Mt. Vernon, Ohio/Mt. Vernon), Jaimie Grindle, and
Annie Grindle (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) qualified for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, and this weekend at the AMC Championship Williams, J. Grindle, A. Grindle and
Amber Bourcier (Middleburg, Ohio/Midpark) took the 4x400 relay conference championship by over six seconds with a time of 4:04.40.
Overall the Ursuline Track Team finished fifth overall with 82.5 points earned. Malone University took both the Women's and Men's team championships with 222 points on the Women's side and 256.5 points on the Men's side.
