May 17, 2010
MEADEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursuline College Track & Field Program continues to establish new school records and has climbed into the Top 16 in the nation as the 4x400 relay team topped its own qualifying mark at the Gator Invitational (Allegheny College). The meet was highlighted by
Jaimie Grindle, who set a new record in the 200 meter dash and then just 20 minutes later ran anchor on the 4x400 relay team, which took the top spot, set a new school record, and qualified with an "A" standard time of 3:54.92.
Grindle's time of 26.26 seconds in the 200m dash was good enough to finish fourth in the invitational. It topped her own school record of 26.67, which she established at the Mt. Union meet bask in April.
Other top finishers this weekend included
Nicole Genske, who took sixth in the shot put with a throw of 12.11 meters (39' 8.75").
The Arrows will now compete at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. Hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University, Ursuline compete from May 27th through May 29th. The 4x400 relay team will be featured along with the 4x100 relay team, Jaimie Grindle in the 400m dash and
Jessica Dingman in the 10k run.
