Seven Track & Field members named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

As the 2010-11 Track & Field season comes to a close, seven of its team members have been named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athletes. Erica Casto, Erin Childers, Jessica Dingman, Kaelyn Hrabak, Alyssa Porter, Jody Scimone, and Karen Wagonseller are all either junior or senior level student-athletes and hold over a 3.5 grade point average.

Ursuline signs Crestview senior Madgie Dunn

The Ursuline College Track & Field program has announced the signing of Madgie Dunn. A two-sport athlete at Crestview High School in track and cross country, Dunn has qualified for regional's in the 300-meter hurdles each year of high school. She also qualified for the 100-meter hurdles in her junior year.

McCaulley and 4x400 relay team sets new school records

Over the weekend, the Ursuline Track & Field team competed at the Gator Invitational at Allegheny College. Highlighting the meet was the 4x400 relay team of Tanisha Williams, Amber Bourcier, Annie Grindle, and Jaimie Grindle, who finished second overall, setting a new school record with a time of 3:53.52, just a second behind first place Mount Union. Individually, Fontaine McCaulley finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles, with a school-record time of 1:06.15.

4x100 relay team qualifies for NAIA Nationals

Over the weekend, the Ursuline Track & Field team competed at the University of Akron. Highlighting the meet was the 4x100 relay team of Tanisha Williams, Melissa Zupec, Annie Grindle, and Jaimie Grindle, who finished second behind Akron and qualified for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. Their time of 48.25 was good enough to hit the "B" standard.

Bourcier wins 800m race at Baldwin-Wallace and qualifies for Nationals

Over the weekend, the Ursuline Track & Field team competed at the Baldwin-Wallace Sparky Adams Invitational. Amber Bourcier hit the "A" standard, winning the 800-meter race by over three seconds with a time of 2:14.33.

AMC Recap: Arrows win five individual Championships and take fourth place

Ursuline College Track & Field finished fourth, with 127 points, at the American Mideast Conference Championships over the weekend at Cedarville University. The Arrows finished 67 points ahead of fifth place finisher, rival Notre Dame College. Along with taking home its highest ever team finish; they had five individual event champions and one AMC Championship meet record.

Track meet at Malone canceled; Arrows look for replacement meet

Next weekend, the Arrows were scheduled to take part in the Malone Outdoor Track Meet, but the meet has been canceled. Ursuline will try and send a few members of the track team to another meet, but have not secured which meet as of now. Check the schedule page next week for more updates.

Arrows qualify for Outdoor Nationals in the 4x400 during first meet of the outdoor season

Over the weekend, the Ursuline Track & Field team continued its strong performance from the indoor season, as the 4x400 relay team, which finished eighth at the Indoor National Championships, hit the "A" standard at its first outdoor meet of the season. The Arrows took part in the Coastal Carolina Invitational over spring break, and turned in seven top-15 performance.

4x400 Relay finishes eighth at the NAIA Indoor Nationals

Amber Bourcier, Annie Grindle, Jaimie Grindle, and Tanisha Williams advanced to the NAIA National Indoor Track Finals on Thursday evening in the 4x400 relay, running a school record time of 3:54.39. On Saturday, they finished eighth in the nation in the finals at the GaREAT facility in Geneva, Ohio. Their eighth place finish (3:56.99) just missed out on All-American honors which goes to the top six finishers of each event, thought their eighth place finish was best in school history.

Coach Smalley named AMC Indoor Track Coach of the Year

As the 2010-11 Indoor Track & Field season comes to a close and Ursuline is sending two athletes at the "A" standard and another eight at the "B" standard to the NAIA National Indoor Meet at the GaREAT Facility in Geneva, Ohio, Head Coach Steve Smalley has been named the American Mideast Conference Indoor Track Coach of the Year.

Bourcier hits "B" qualifying standard in 600m, along with the 4x4 relay team

Less than a week ago, Amber Bourcier established a new school record in the 600-meter run (1:40.04). Last night at the Crimson and Gold Invite, hosted by Oberlin College, Bourcier hit the national "B" qualifying standard and broke her own school record in the same event, finishing in 1:38.43.

Ursuline Track competes at NAIA Outdoor National Championships

The Ursuline College Track & Field Program is currently competing at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan. The Arrows have performed better than expected in a variety of events this week. The 4x100 relay team finished 22nd in the nation with its best time of the season, Jaimie Grindle set a new school ranked and finished 13th in the nation in the 400-meter dash, and Jessica Dingman finished 35th in the 10k.

Ursuline 4x400 qualifies Top 16 in the nation

The Ursuline College Track & Field Program continues to establish new school records and has climbed into the Top 16 in the nation as the 4x400 relay team topped its own qualifying mark at the Gator Invitational (Allegheny College). The meet was highlighted by Jaimie Grindle, who set a new record in the 200 meter dash and then just 20 minutes later ran anchor on the 4x400 relay team, which took the top spot, set a new school record, and qualified with an "A" standard time of 3:54.92.

Track To Compete at Oberlin Invite on Friday

The Ursuline College Track & Field program has made a minor scheduling change due to expected winter weather this weekend. The Arrows will now compete at the Oberlin Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College on Friday, February 5, 2010. Previously scheduled to compete at the John Wuske Invitational at Mount Union College, the Arrows will compete for the first time this season at Oberlin College.
