Hillary Beachy's two-run double in game one gave the Arrows a 2-1 lead, which proved to be the game-winning hit as Elizabeth Maher and Jessica Seaman held Bluffton scoreless over the final four innings to secure the victory.
Maher pitched the first five innings, allowing one run on five hits. She struck out two and didn't walk a batter. Seaman pitched the final two innings for the save, allowing two hits, striking out one, and also did not walk a batter.
The Arrows collected just five hits, with Beachy and Kristen Roznoski each having a pair of hits. Lauren Grana, who scored along with Roznoski on the Beachy double, reached base twice on walks and in her only other at-bat had a sacrifice bunt to advance Roznoski to second.
In game two, the Arrows fell behind 3-0, but chipped away with a run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI-single by Ciara Seymour. They trailed by two headed into the bottom of the seventh. Ursuline managed to get within one as Kami Weikel doubled to left and scored on a Maher single. However, the game tying run was left stranded as Roznoski's fly ball couldn't clear the reach of the centerfield.
Ursuline will return to action this week with a doubleheader at home on Wednesday, April 21 against Case Western at 4:00 p.m. They will also travel to Walsh for a AMC doubleheader on Thursday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m.
