Ursuline drops both games of make-up doubleheader against BW

BEREA, OHIO - The Ursuline College Softball team (7-21) dropped both games of a doubleheader against Baldwin-Wallace (18-13). The games, which where originally scheduled for April 8th at home, were played on the road on Monday afternoon. Ursuline dropped game one, 5-4, and game two, 6-4.

In game one, the Arrows managed four runs on only four hits. They did walk five times and took advantage of five errors by Baldwin-Wallace.

Ursuline took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning, highlighted by a RBI-single by Kristen Roznoski. Baldwin-Wallace tied the game at 2-2 in the third, before the Arrows reclaimed the lead in the fifth on an RBI-single by Hillary Beachy that scored Roznoski.

BW took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth with two runs and added another in the sixth, which proved to be the game-winner.

In game two, Baldwin-Wallace jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. However, Ursuline took a 3-2 lead with a single run in the second and two more in the third. In the two-run inning, Roznoski stole home for the first run, and then Melissa Boggs sac bunt scored Lauren Grana from third.

However, BW scored two in the bottom of the inning, and then added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to secure the 6-4 win.

Ursuline will return to action with a doubleheader at home on Wednesday, April 21 against Case Western at 4:00 p.m. They will also travel to Walsh for a AMC doubleheader on Thursday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m.
