In game one, Thiel jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second. The Tomcats scored the four runs on three hits, which included a three-run home run by Laura Davin.
However, Ursuline responded with six runs in the bottom of the inning. The inning started with three singles and a walk, before an out was recorded. Lauren Grana singled home two runs, while Melissa Ruminski, Kami Weikel, and Hillary Beachy each recorded an RBI in the inning.
Thiel quickly answered with two runs in the third on three hits and two Ursuline errors. The game remained tied 6-6 for the next 39 outs. In the bottom of the ninth, Beachy led off with a double, but was out at third on a base running mistake by Miranda Boggs. Boggs made up for it when she scored from second with two outs on the game-winning single by Britney Mascia
The win completes the 2010 for the Ursuline softball team. The Arrows won four of their last six games, including three-straight, despite two of the wins coming against a non-NCAA or NAIA program.
