Faculty - Nursing

Summary
Ursuline College and the Breen School of Nursing announce a search for a full-time instructor for the Accelerated BSN program. This is a full-time, 12-month position entailing year round classroom and clinical teaching, supervision of clinical faculty, and assisting the program director with assigned administrative responsibilities. The position is available immediately.

Responsibilities
Teaching assigned classroom and clinical courses in medical-surgical nursing and other courses as appropriate; supervising students in senior practicum; assisting the director with oversight of adjunct clinical faculty during clinical rotations. Coordinating student orientation to course and clinical sites; proctoring student exams; helping students with NCLEX preparatory materials and testing. Assisting with program assessment and evaluation, marketing and recruiting events, and preparing reports for accrediting agencies.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for the position include an MSN or master?s degree in nursing, Ohio RN license, relevant clinical practice and/or teaching experience, and the ability to work in multicultural settings. Preference is for individuals with a background in Medical-Surgical and/or Critical Care nursing.

Adjunct Faculty ? Physics

Summary
Ursuline College is searching for an Adjunct Faculty member in Physics, to be taught as independent study, for the 2010 Spring Term (January 19 -May 16, 2009).

Responsibilities
The responsibility for the position is the teaching of one section of a 3 credit hour lecture course and the accompanying 1-credit laboratory course of a second semester algebra-based physics course, which supports the biology and pre-professional majors.

Qualifications
The qualified candidate will posses a M.S. in physics or a related discipline and will be available to teach the lab on Friday mornings 8:30-10am. The lecture day(s)/times can be arranged with the students before the semester begins, but will need to end before 3pm. Teaching experience and experience with computer-based instruction are desirable qualifications. The compensation for this position is $750 per student with 2 students expected.

Compliance Coordinator ? Athletic Department

Summary
This position will ensure that all athletic operations are consistent with the rules and policies of the NCAA and the conference.

Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure compliance with Ursuline, conference and NCAA rules and regulations governing athletics. Coordinates rules education for coaches and athletes. Monitor eligibility of student-athletes working with Registrar, Financial Aid and the National Clearinghouse. Communicate with NCAA and conference about rules interpretation and compliance matters. This position is a full-time, 12 month position, reporting to the Athletic Director.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required; Masters preferred. At least 2 years experience with NCAA compliance at the college level. Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, computer skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Instructional Technology Support Specialist

Summary
Responsible for assisting faculty with technology used by the College to enhance teaching and student learning. The instructional technologist will assist faculty in the development of technology-based teaching materials and other web services for Ursuline College. The position is a 12 month position, reporting to Director of Computer Information Services.

Responsibilities
Include collaborating with individual faculty to produce online courses and materials for use in class; serve as a support resource for faculty and students using course management system, (i.e. Angel LMS or Blackboard) and other software used for teaching; develop and implement interactive sites and multimedia materials for teaching and College administration. Participate in the design and development of College web pages. Work collaboratively with Director Computer Information Services or other consultants to design and deliver workshops and/or one-to-one tutorial sessions for faculty and/or students on technology topics.

Qualifications
The qualified candidate will possess a four (4) year degree or its equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year experience in web development and/or multimedia development in a Windows network environment. Knowledge of HTML formatting. Ability to work in multicultural environment.

Adjunct Faculty Position - Chemistry

Ursuline College is searching for two Adjunct Faculty members in Chemistry for the 2010 Spring Term (January 19 -May 15, 2010).

Responsibilities
The responsibility for the first position is the teaching of one to two sections of a 3 credit hour lecture course in organic and biochemistry which supports the Nursing major. This person will be needed to teach on MW mornings from 8:30-11:15am.

The responsibility for the second position is the teaching of one section of a 3 credit hour lecture course and its accompanying laboratory in organic and biochemistry which supports the Nursing major. This person will be needed to teach on TR evenings from 5:30-8:40pm.
