For Parents

Assistance from parents is one of the best ways we can reach students and let them know about our services. It is never too early for your student to look into opportunities for internships and cooperative education, in which they can perform actual work in their field of study, learn about our career mentoring network, in which students are partnered with a professional in her/his major, and get help developing a professional resume and cover letter that allows them to highlight their degree and skill set.

If the first time your student heads for the Office of Counseling and Career Services is the final semester before graduation, chances are that they may not yet have that first professional job by the time they graduate! Please read the articles below for up to date career information and pointers for assisting your college age children with their transition from student to professional. If you have specific questions regarding our services - feel free to e-mail or call.
