About the Program

LEAD (Leading to Excellence in the Academic Domain) is a scholarship and support program for new students (freshmen) at Ursuline College who are the first in their family to attend college.  If admitted to the LEAD program, you will receive a LEAD advisor who will guide you throughout your first semester and you will participate in workshops and activities to foster your success. LEAD is co-facilitated by URSA (Ursuline Resources for Success in Academics) and the Office of Diversity.

A $450.00 textbook voucher is awarded upon acceptance into LEAD.  If you complete the fall semester program you will be awarded another $450.00 textbook voucher for the spring semester of your first year.

The program is limited to twenty eligible students who apply for the program. Scholarship athletes may have limited eligibility.
You must be a new freshman and a first generation college student. For LEAD, we define first generation as a student whose parents and siblings have not earned a degree from a four-year college.
You must be registered for classes at Ursuline College and you must have completed the LEAD application.
