History Major
30 credit hours in History are required including HI 205, HI 214, one World History, US 350, US 351 and 15 other credits of History.
Students may choose from a number of courses in the areas of American, Asian, European, Middle Eastern, and Latin American history and a variety of special topics.
History students may also earn credit through history-related courses in other departments, directed foreign travel, independent study, prior learning assessment, and internships.
History Minor
18 semester hours of course work in the following areas: World Culture; Western Culture; American Culture; and three History electives.
Students are strongly encouraged to take Political Science and World Geography as electives.
At least three courses in the minor must be above the 200 level.
Courses in Modern Languages, Art History, and Religious Studies may be included in the minorat the discretion of the History faculty; however, students should have at least 12 hours of course work within the History Department.
