As a program participant you will:
- Explore the world's energy options, look at global water and air quality and investigate global perspectives on infectious disease in a technology rich environment
- Perform hands-on science experiments
- Learn strategies used by successful college students
The program will start with an intense two week session, Monday-Thursday, July 14-17 & 21-24 from 9:00-3:00 on the Ursuline campus. Students will also come to Ursuline on January 19, 2009 from 9:00-3:00 and will maintain periodic distance contact with the program through their first year at college. Some help with transportation is available on an individual basis.

Successful completion of course work on January 19, 2009 will earn each student $500, which can be used for expenses at the college of your choice.
To apply for the program, complete the application form and a 250 word essay on why you would like to participate in this program. You are encouraged to have your teacher complete the optional recommendation form. A $25 application fee, which will be returned to students with successful participation, must accompany each application.
This program focuses on students who are the first in their family to attend college and on populations who are underrepresented in the sciences.
Review of applications will begin on May 1 and continue until openings are filled.
