The Ursuline College Chemistry Department invites rising high school sophomores (class of 2012) and juniors (class of 2011) to participate in a unique and exciting opportunity exploring chemistry and chemistry related fields this summer 2009. Summer Science will run on Thursday, July 30, Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1. The activities will include indoor and outdoor labs and hands-on activities at the Ursuline College campus, a trip the Chemistry Department at The Ohio State University in Columbus, and a visit to The Lubrizol Corporation in Lake County, OH.

As a program participant you will:
- Perform indoor and outdoor labs and hands-on activities
- Tour labs at a local industry and see first-hand how chemistry is involved in all these vital areas
- Learn about how college can prepare you for a career in chemistry and related fields
To apply for this special pre-college experience, fill out an application along with a short 250 word or less essay. A teacher recommendation is optional, but encouraged. Review of applications will begin on April 30 and continue until all openings are filled.
A $50 registration fee for the entire program covers all workshops, materials, and lunch each day. Scholarships are available. Some help with transportation is available on an individual basis.
