An Evening with Katie Spotz
March 21, 2012
After 70 days alone at sea, 22 year-old Katie Spotz became the youngest person ever to row an ocean solo. No stranger to overcoming challenges, Katie has run across desserts, cycled across America, and is the first person to swim the 325-mile Allegheny River.
She has spoken to audiences ranging from school children to business professionals, and speaks with honesty, humility, and passion about motivation, goal setting, success, failure, risk-taking, overcoming adversity and achieving what we set out to achieve, no matter how steep the odds. Katie’s story has been featured on CBS Morning Show, CBS Evening News, World News with Diane Sawyer, Anderson Cooper 360, New York Times, NPR, PBS News Hour, and the Discovery Channel. In 2010, Katie was honored by Glamour Magazine as one of their "Women of the Year", alongside people like Julia Roberts, Cher and Queen Rania of Jordan.
