Mission Statement
U.N.I.T.E, Ursuline Network of Inspiring Talented Entrepreneurs brings together a diverse group of emerging and established female entrepreneurs and provides opportunities to learn, mentor,
and exchange ideas. Our goal is to encourage and support each member to pursue her vision of
success with integrity and be a confident voice within the business community.
Entrepreneurial Spirit
A local woman filled with energy and vision recently contacted the Alumnae Office and said she
was interested in launching and chairing a women’s entrepreneurial group. Along with alumnae,
all are welcome in the community to join the group. Laurie Penca ’82 said she could have used a similar support group when she first ventured into the business world and thought others might
find it useful too. “My vision for this group extends beyond simple networking,” said Penca,
owner of Creating Visual Harmony, a Cleveland/Akron based residential and commercial design
firm. “This troop functions as a forum for business women who are willing to support each
other, build sound business relationships and provide mentoring services for less experienced
entrepreneurs. According to Penca, the ten members represent fields including interior design,
life coaching, real estate, event planning, art, and healthcare products and they are looking
to enlarge their circle.
