Nelson Schorr just concluded his 5th year at Ursuline College and has guided the team to new heights once again. This past season the team made the conference playoffs for the first time and set many school records. Some of those records were; most three point shots made in a season at 215, highest scoring average at 76 points per game, ranked 8th nationally in rebounds per game at 43.9, ranked 12th nationally in three point shots made per game with 7.9, and ranked 16th nationally for points scored per game with 76.
The program, under Coach Schorr, has seen a dramatic improvement in a short time with the fast-breaking style that the team is now noted for. Win totals have gone up from 2 to 15 as well as scoring average from 50 points per game to the current school best 76 points per game over the last 5 years. Coach Schorr has also started a J.V. team which plays a 10-15 game schedule against local area programs.
Prior to coming to Ursuline, Coach Schorr was the Head Coach at SUNY Potsdam from 2000-2003.
In addition to his duties as the basketball coach, he is also the Director of Intramurals.
He resides in Medina with his wife Sharon, son Josh who is 15 and the new additions, twins, Trey and Sydney.
Assistant Coach Kari Carmody
Coach Carmody has been the assistant coach and J.V. coach for the last three seasons. She is a
teacher in the Medina School District and a graduate of Ursuline College.
Assistant Coach Erin Calabrese
Coach Calabrese has been an assistant for the past three seasons. She is a teacher in the Solon School District and a graduate of Muskingum College.
Assistant Coach Val Pratscher
Coach Pratscher has been an assistant for the past three seasons. She just completed her
Master's Degree in Sport Management at Cleveland State University.
