Head Women’s Soccer Coach Jason Kubbins announced that Coventry High School Senior Alyssa Porter signed an NAIA letter of intent to play soccer at Ursuline College. Alyssa was a four year letter winner at sweeper and marking back for Coventry. She became a standout in the back her junior season making Honorable Mention All Portage Trail Conference. Alyssa’s senior season she was named First Team All Portage Trail Conference. Both seasons she was named her team’s defensive MVP. Recently Alyssa was named the WAKR Greater Akron Student Athlete of the week for her accomplishments in soccer and track and in the classroom where she holds a 3.76 GPA.
“We are so pleased to have signed Alyssa”, said Coach Kubbins. “Not only does she have athletic ability to play the game, but she possesses the mental ability as well. She is a very smart and efficient defender that can help us right away. One of my goals this year was to improve our defense. Alyssa and our other defensive recruits will fit in well with our returning players in the back.”
