Softball recruit named Player of the Year in Maine

Softball recruit Sarah Maxwell, who can both pitch and play first base, was recently named Player of the Year in the state of Maine by the Kennebec Newspaper. She was a four-time first-team All-Conference selection and Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Player of the Year over the last three seasons of her high school career.

Softball Fall Tryouts for 2011 Seniors to be held on September 12

The Ursuline College Softball Team will be hosting a Fall Tryout for 2011 High School Seniors on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The tryout will take place at the O'Brien Gymnasium on the campus of Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

Hillary Beachy Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete

Hillary Beachy was named an 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar-Athlete. The award which is given to only Juniors and Seniors, is awarded to those student-athletes that carry a 3.5 grade point average or better. Beachy was given the award in both years she was eligible.

Six Ursuline Softball players named to All-Conference Teams

The Ursuline College Softball team earned six All-Conference awards following the 2010 season. Led by freshman Ciara Seymour's All-American Mideast Conference Second Team honors as a utility player, the Arrows claimed five more spots on the Honorable Mention team.

Ursuline ends season with a win over Thiel in bottom of the ninth

The Ursuline College Softball team (12-29) finished off its season with a 7-6 victory in the bottom of the ninth over postseason-bound Thiel College on Wednesday afternoon. Originally scheduled for March 26th the doubleheader was shortened to just one game after a nine-inning game and inbound rain prevented a game two.

The Ursuline College Softball team opened its final week of the 2010 regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Lakeland Community College on Monday afternoon. In game one, the Arrows won a battle 12-10, followed by a easier 9-2 victory in game two.

Ursuline splits final AMC doubleheader at home against Shawnee State

The Ursuline College Softball team split its final American Mideast Conference doubleheader, taking game two, 4-1, after falling 6-0 in game one to Shawnee State. The Bears who are the No. 1 seed in the AMC postseason tournament, took advantage of four Ursuline errors in game one, but could not manage much against Ciara Seymour in game two.

The Ursuline College Softball team (10-26) dropped both games of a American Mideast Conference doubleheader at Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Wednesday afternoon. The Arrows fell in game one, 6-0, but rebounded to hold a 1-0 lead in game two before MVNU scored two in its last at-bat to take the doubleheader sweep.

The Ursuline College Softball team (9-21) took both games of a doubleheader against Case Western Reserve (8-32) on Wednesday afternoon at home. In game one, the bats came alive as the Arrows pounded the Spartans 13-3. Then in game two, Ursuline rallied to win 6-5 after trailing 4-0 early.

The Arrows Softball Team enters the 2009-10 season with a solid balance of youth and experience. Guided by the team?s lone senior, Hillary Beachy, the Blue and Gold feature five sophomores and seven freshmen on a roster of 15. Coming off last year?s disappointing season, the Arrows are looking to regain the success they had a couple years ago when they made an appearance in the American Mideast Conference playoffs.
