Carlow
Ursuline came into today’s doubleheader with high hopes. The Arrows failed to live up to their
own expectations when they committed four errors in addition to Carlow's seven hits and two
walks while managing only three separate hits losing the game to Carlow 5-0. Rajcan gave up
only two earned runs in the loss. Carlow’s Roland was very effective as she shut out UC through seven innings. Roland got the win, Rajcan the loss.
Carlow
Ursuline pulls within one run of Carlow when Meredith Croce hit an RBI double to score Amy
Difiore in the sixth inning. Carlow challenged the next inning and the unsettled Ursuline
Arrows mishandled three hits in a row to give Carlow three more runs and the 6-2 victory.
"These were not well played games. We're making errors that generally aren't made. These are
the type of errors that are generally due to fatigue. That's what it looked like today. We've
got to learn how to deal with this during this time of the school year and softball season. I'm not taking anything away from Carlow though. They did what they had to do. They played well. We had the right attitude but I'm sure the team would agree that our play today was very
disappointing." said Coach Woodford. Roland took the win, Gilreath the loss.
