Arrows lose a heartbreaker to Lakeland after leading 6-1 through six innings. “Sometimes you
find a way to win, sometimes you find a way to lose…” stated Coach Woodford after a
demoralizing loss today at Arrows field. “The team hit so much better today banging out nine
hits for six runs with some long balls in the mix but we couldn’t finish the game.” Liz Shoda
had two RBI’s and Steph Rajcan had an RBI double to no avail as Lakeland came back in the 7th
inning clobbering nine hits of their own and going ahead 9-6. Gilreath took the loss.

The Arrows turned the corner in game two of the doubleheader winning 8-0 in five innings. The
Arrows, burned in game one, came back with a vengeance scoring a run off of four hits in the
second, two in the third and five in the fourth. Sara Ilko went 2-3 with one RBI and Danielle
Bandza went two for two with 2 RBIs. Hillary Beachy and Amy Difiore both had doubles to help
the cause. Ashley Hykes pitched the shutout with catcher, Meredith Croce. “I’m proud of the way the team came back today after the first game. A lot of teams would have hung their heads, but
these guys still have some fight in them. They showed a lot of character today. It looks like
we’re starting to come together,” stated Coach Woodford. Hykes got the win, Brigham got the
loss.
