Ursuline College Track & Field competed at their first American Mid-East Conference Championship at Malone this weekend. The Arrows placed 7th out of 8 teams in attendance. Annie Grindle led the way for the Arrows placing 2nd in the 100 Dash (12.85 trials, 12.94 finals) and 3rd in the 100 Hurdles (15.35 trials, 15.66 finals). Grindle also ran the second leg of the 4x100 which finished in 3rd place along with Kaelyn Hrabak, Mariea Parham, and Tanisha Williams. Other top performers from the meet were:
- Jessica Dingman - 5000 - 4th Place (19:16.76)
- Jessica Dingman - 10000 - 6th Place (43:46.40)
- 4x800 - 6th Place - 10:30.01 (Childers, Chase, Goans, Williams)
- 4x400 - 6th Place - 4:17.41 (Hrabak, Goans, Childers, Kimmel)
- Melissa Watson - Triple Jump - 8th Place (30'3.75")
- Kaelyn Hrabak - 200 - 26.76
- Erin Childers - 800 - 2:30.26
Coach Badway had the following to say after the meet. "It was great competing at our first conference championships. We were the only team there that only freshmen competing. The ladies definitely learned a lot about what it takes to compete at this level in college, and will be able to pass their experiences on to the incoming class. This will definitely make us a lot more competitive at next year’s conference meet.”
The Arrows next meet will be on 4/25 at Oberlin College.
