Theology & Art: The Mandala Workshop

October 20, 2017

The Mandala Workshop: Weaving Spiritual Traditions

Chris Reynolds, M.Ed.
Sr. Diane Pinchot, OSU, M.A.L.S., M.F.A.
Natalie Weaver, Ph.D.
Joann Rymarczyk-Piotrkowski, D.Min.

As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Ursuline College’s presence on this land in Pepper Pike with the creation of a grove of trees in the shape of a mandala, we want to offer this workshop to help further celebrate and update our understanding of how mandalas have been used as cross-cultural symbols of the holistic union of humanity, Earth and the universe for the last 17,000 years. This workshop will focus on making, walking, praying and living out what the mandala means in this 21st century. The participants will be given opportunities to enter into the experience of creating mandalas, telling stories, singing, journaling, making and praying in an outdoor Medicine Wheel or walking our Labyrinth, sitting around the mandala of a table and sharing a meal together.

Friday, October 20: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 21: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

$175.00 (One graduate workshop credit)
