The library collection exists to support the Ursuline College curriculum. In order to do that effectively, the library welcomes the assistance and cooperation of the school's faculty. The library encourages suggestions from any faculty member about resources to purchase. This is best accomplished through the faculty chairperson or the departmental liaison. The library also enlists the faculty's help in weeding outdated materials from the collection.
In addition to resources within the library walls, faculty has access to items from OhioLINK and beyond. These resources from any academic library in Ohio may be requested online and should arrive in the library in less than a week. Photocopies of periodical articles and additional books may be requested through interlibrary loan. Interlibrary loan forms are available online. You will be notified when your material arrives.
Our Reference Librarians are available to help design effective research assignments. Reference librarians are also available to conduct bibliographic instruction (BI) sessions with you class on research techniques and resources. These BI sessions are particularly helpful when students have specific research topics. This allows our staff to prepare appropriate materials for the class. To schedule a class call the Reference Desk (x8183) or Reference Office (x4080). We may also be reached by e-mail.
If you know that library materials may be heavily used, we suggest putting them on reserve. Reserved materials will circulate for whatever period of time you specify. For more information about reserve, choose the link for reserve materials on the left.
