An Art Exhibit, Scholarship Gala and Documentary Screening Event
In contrast to the depiction of women in baseball as a short-lived phenomenon of the 1940s, Americas national pastime has included women players from baseballs beginning in the 1860s. Their impact on the game and American society is brought clearly to light in
Linedrives and Lipstick: The Untold Story of Womens Baseball, an exhibition hosted by Ursuline College and the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) with presenting sponsor, The Cleveland Indians. Other sponsors include Mrs. John C. Wasmer Jr., The Lake County Captains and Key Bank.
EXHIBIT
September 1 - October 20
The
Linedrives and Lipstick exhibition features more than 60 items ranging from picture postcards, game programs, photographs, posters and in-depth articles from magazines such as Colliers, Liberty and the Saturday Evening Post held at Ursulines Florence ODonnell Wasmer Gallery.

SCHOLARSHIP GALA
September 16, 6 PM
Silent and live auctions, dinner and panel discussion with female baseball legends, held at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven. Dollars raised from the event are earmarked for Ursuline student scholarships.
