Ursuline Branding Initiatives Acknowledged
Three professional organizations including The Greater Cleveland Chapter of the Public
Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education
(CASE) and the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, recently recognized
Ursuline for outstanding institutional branding.
“During the past year, we have been involved in a college wide branding effort aimed at setting Ursuline apart by identifying and publicizing our unique strengths in a cohesive manner,” said College President Sister Diana Stano. “Receiving recognition for our efforts by outside groups was an unexpected bonus.”
Ursuline won the highest award in its category from PRSA for its brand and reputation
management program entitled, Branding 101: Moving Ursuline College from Good to Great. The
Cleveland Rocks Award was part of an annual competition in downtown Cleveland that showcased
123 entries representing 27 agencies, companies and associations from Northeast Ohio.
Also in December, the College won a first place Gold Award for Best Practices in Communications and Marketing (Branding) at the Pride of CASE V annual awards program in Chicago. The event
recognized best practices of higher education institutions in a five-state area. Ursuline also received two Bronze Awards for Best Practices in Feature Writing and Most Improved
Alumni/Institution Magazine.
From the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals, Ursuline received a Gold MarCom Creative Award for Corporate Branding. The College also received an honorable mention for “Extreme Magazine Makeover.” This international competition is one of the largest in the world.
Ursuline retained the Cleveland-based brand development firm Breehl, Traynor & Zehe in 2006 to assist in its efforts of moving the College brand from Good to Great.
