“Live the Dream” Program at Ursuline College, Tues., Jan. 22 in Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Cleveland’s own Dr. Jacklyn Chisholm’s will present “Live the Dream” at Ursuline College’s
Martin Luther King celebration Tues., Jan. 22, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Fritzsche Center, 2550 Lander Road, Pepper Pike. Chisholm is vice president of planning and institutional relations at
Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The event is free and open to the public.
Chisolm’s “Live the Dream” program is a personal and uplifting story on how the legacy of Dr. King can empower and encourage students to earn their education and become successful individuals. “Dr. Chisholm will share her personal experience on how she, as a young African American girl, achieved her goals, despite obstacles and hardships that nearly destroyed her vision to succeed,” said Tina Lining, Ursuline’s director of multicultural affairs.
As a Cleveland native, Chisholm graduated from John K. Kennedy High School and attended Case Western Reserve University. At Case she received bachelor’s degree in medical anthropology, a master’s degree in psychological anthropology and a doctorate in educational and psychological anthropology. Chisholm serves on several civic boards including the Center for Community Solutions.
Chisolm’s challenging experience as a student and adult learner led her to partner with her husband in early 2001 to establish, “It’s Worth It” Educational Consulting, LLC. The purpose of the organization is to motivate and prepare students to attend college who may not otherwise consider higher education as an option for their future. Chisholm resides in Shaker Heights with her husband Robert and their two daughters.
