Ursuline Announces a Fast Track in Special and Early Childhood Education
July 20, 2009
Ursuline College announces a fast instructional track (U-FIT) in undergraduate special and early childhood education programs. The new delivery format is specifically designed to meet the needs of students who wish to complete their degree in less than four years. The fast track will be presented in a three year format and will incorporate the same curriculum as the traditional undergraduate education program. Eligible students will need to meet higher entrance requirements than other programs.
"The new program will get students into the classroom sooner than the traditional route and with the quality courses, early, consistent and diverse fieldwork, already a hallmark of Ursuline’s education programs, is very attractive to prospective teachers," said Ursuline Education Professor, Mary Jo Cherry.
According to Cherry, the fast track scheduling means many semesters with heavier course loads than the traditional format. "The intense scheduling is why Ursuline added more stringent admissions requirements," said Cherry.
Ursuline is accepting applicants to the U-FIT program for the 2010/2011 academic year. For more information, contact Mary Jo Cherry at email@example.com
