Ursuline Bids Farewell and Welcomes Two New Members

With heartfelt gratitude we celebrate the accomplishments of two long-standing community members, Kevin Gladstone, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and David Steiner, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, both of whom will retire in the next few weeks. The entire College joins me in appreciation for their years of outstanding service and dedication. Although no one could replace them, we are fortunate to be able to introduce you to two new team members who will join us in their stead.

Over the past nineteen years, Kevin Gladstone has played a central role in raising nearly $60 million, including $21 million in a capital campaign for our two newest buildings, and growing our endowment to $40 million. The strong relationships he has built, the warmth of his humor, and his unstinting advocacy for Ursuline have become hallmarks of institutional advancement at the College.

On March 15, Richard Konisiewicz will become our new Vice President for Institutional Advancement. He brings more than twenty years’ experience in non-profit fund-raising, including almost thirteen years as Director of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where he consistently exceeded goals for grants and annual giving while overseeing projects that increased community awareness and media attention. As we expand our global outreach, he brings extensive international engagement in his current work at Global Cleveland, where he has been Interim Director and Director of Development and Community Outreach, and in his previous roles at the Cleveland Council on World Affairs and in Ethnic and International Affairs for the Office of the Mayor of Cleveland.

As Ursuline’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Dave Steiner has led the College’s finance and budget efforts since 1999. His careful attention to detail and his well-honed accounting skills have raised the quality of life across campus in key areas of budget preparation, financial projections, and healthcare benefits.  With all of those he has served, he has built a relationship of trust and integrity.

Timothy Reardon, who has served as Controller and Treasurer of the College for the past seventeen years, will become Ursuline’s new Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective April 1. In his current role, he is thoroughly familiar with the College’s daily financial operations, the annual audit processes, and the various software that he has used to increase electronic efficiencies, improve student billing, and create a deferred payment plan for students.  Faculty and staff members know him for his conscientiousness in every aspect of accounting, for his support on numerous committees, and for his generosity of spirit. In living out the Ursuline College mission, he is committed to each of our students, and he will be an invaluable part of the team in his new role.


As we embark on these transitions, the College is ever grateful for the work that Kevin and Dave have done and confident of Ursuline’s future as we welcome our new team members.
