Here are some packing necessities, suggestions, and guidelines. If you follow these ideas, you should be able to create a home of your residence hall room. Have fun shopping!
Neccessities:- Towels and washcloths
- Bed linens and pillows (regular twin size)
- Toiletries
- Power strip to plug in electrical appliances
- Alarm Clock
- Small hot pot
- Carrier for toiletries
- Desk lamp
- Fan
- Wipe off board for door
- Computer (if buying a new computer, please refer this page)
We recommend you contact your roommate to decide who will bring the following items.
- Stereo
- Television/VCR/DVD
- Phone
- Small refrigerator
- Cooking appliances including microwaves, hot plates, coffee pots, toasters, toaster ovens, etc...
- Space heaters or kerosene heaters
- Irons
- Electric blankets
- Air conditioners
- Water beds
- Live pets of any kind including fish
- Large, full-size refrigerators
- Candles, incense burners
- Halogen lamps
Cars - You may have a car on campus provided that you purchase a parking permit. Permits are $20/semester or $40/year and can be picked up at the Student Service Center.
Phones - Local phone service with call waiting and voicemail is provided in each room. You will receive your phone number when you arrive on campus. You will need a phone card for long distance calls.
Laundry - There are laundry facilities and a change machine in Grace. The cost is .75 a load. Bring detergent and fabric softener.
Move-in - Move-in is usually scheduled during Fall Orientation. For more information about Fall Orientation, please contact the Office of Student Activities at (440) 449-2638.
