The Ursuline College Wellness Program provides the Ursuline College community with the programming, resources and support its members need to most effectively manage their health - for life. For students, faculty and staff, this goal speaks to the Ursuline College vision of challenging one to develop a sense of lifelong learning as a total person. This is achieved in part by assisting members as they create a balance in the physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and occupational dimensions of their lives.
The Ursuline College Wellness Program offers the following opportunities:- Educational programming that focuses on current health and wellness issues facing members of the Ursuline College community
- Activity Programs including Yoga, Pilates, Self-Defense, Kickboxing, Healthy Living Support, Meditation, Creative Journaling, Mindfulness training, and more
- Ursuline Studies Program (Core Curriculum) Wellness Competency - Major academic component required of all students
- Peer Education Training - BACCHUS/Alcohol 101, Sexual Assault Awareness, Domestic Violence Prevention, and Wellness Mentoring
- Residence Halls - All-resident programming design and assistance
- Food Service: Collaboration with Aladdin Food Service management in the offering of healthy eating information, ideas, and support
- Orientation/Welcome Week - Wellness education component for incoming classes
- Student Chapter, National Wellness Institute - This student-led group initiates and conducts peer-focused activities
The Ursuline College Wellness Center, located on the second floor of the O'Brien Campus Center, is open daily both for scheduled activity programs and for students, faculty and staff to use when they have time. Equipment is available for a variety of activities.
