Marketing Program Core
Building on a strong liberal arts background, a major in Marketing provides the student with necessary business competencies to pursue a career in the business of sales and marketing. Students complete coursework that specifically addresses the many facets of marketing in both the for-profit business and not-for-profit organization.
The marketing core competencies prepare the student to obtain an entry level job in the marketing field or to advance their career in this area. Opportunities for internships provide students with work experience as part of the requirements for completion.
Persons interested in marketing careers should be mature, creative, highly motivated, flexible, and decisive. The ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing, with managers, staff, and the public is vital. Marketing managers need tact, good judgment, and the exceptional ability to establish and maintain effective personal relationships with supervisory and professional staff members and client firms.
Marketing and sales positions are found in virtually every industry. Sales Managers are employed in wholesale and retail trade, and in the finance and insurance industries. Marketing managers are employed in the professional, scientific, and technical services industries.
Students who complete the B.A. degree in Marketing may find opportunities for employment in the following positions:

Facilitators in the Marketing program are marketing managers, marketing specialists, or professors with expertise in their areas of instruction.
The Ursuline Studies Program
The heart of an Ursuline education is the Ursuline Studies Program
. By its very nature, the Ursuline Studies Program is committed to the development and enrichment of all students. As an outcomes-based curriculum, the program views assessment of academic progress as an essential part of each course and each stage of development.
The Ursuline Studies Program involves a series of writing-intensive interdisciplinary courses that total 49 credit hours and serve as the liberal arts core of an Ursuline College education. The program highlights personal development, the cultivation of academic abilities and the exploration of a coherent, integrated body of knowledge drawn from a variety of disciplines.
