Dr. Elizabeth Kavran is Dean of Ursuline's School of Arts and Sciences and Associate Professor of Biology, serving on the faculty since 2001 in successively more responsible roles. Most recently she served for two years as interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. Beth currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences (CCAS). Her research focus has been on pedagogical methods of teaching case studies to undergraduate Nursing and Biology students. She brings research and teaching together through case studies in the classroom. These case studies tie physiological processes with nursing and healthcare related practices. She received her BA in Biology from Kenyon College, where she learned to true meaning of living the liberal arts. She earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Case Western Reserve University.
