Melissa Hladek is the Clinical Coordinator at Ursuline. She earned her B.F.A. in Studio Art from Youngstown State University and her M.A. in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College. Her thesis research included topics on post-traumatic growth, multigenerational behavioral patterns, epigenetics and molecular transference of trauma, and healing through expressive arts therapies. As a clinician, Melissa has worked with youth, adolescents, and adults providing school based services as well as community mental health services in the greater Cleveland area. Melissa is active in the Service Learning Program and is passionate about creating sustainability and a greater global community. She has presented at local and state conferences on post-traumatic growth, genogram application, and service learning. She is a member of Buckeye Art therapy Association, American Art Therapy Association, and Ohio Counseling Association.
