Why I Chose Ursuline
I received both an academic and athletic scholarship, but more importantly the idea of not getting lost on some big state college campus was appealing. Working hard on my academics (as a Chemistry and Biology major) and athletics helped keep me focused during my four years, and I found lifelong friends that had the same values.
Putting My Ursuline Degree to Work
The smaller class sizes at Ursuline allowed me to build lasting relationships with faculty and classmates, many of whom helped with applications and motivation to attend graduate school at The University of Akron in Polymer Science. I now have my PhD and work at W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., in their vascular business aortic division as a liaison between the clinicians and researchers/engineers.
I’m Making My World More Motivated
Over the length of my life, I hope to find ways of instilling 'values, voice, and vision' into every aspect of my life. To volunteer wherever I am needed, to speak up and help others when it is needed, and to create an opportunity for others whenever possible. If I can use my successes and failures to motivate others, I will feel accomplished.
