Why did you choose Ursuline?
I chose Ursuline specifically for the UCAP program. As a full-time working adult, I needed a program that could be flexible with starting and stopping and that I could attend locally in-person in the evenings.
How did you manage all of your responsibilities (work, family, school) to be successful in your program?
It was not easy managing all the demands between work, family, and school. To be successful I had to make class time a priority. When classes were once a week in person it was easy to separate work and home from school. When classes were mostly online, I would have to block out time during the week to go to the library or make childcare arrangements. Mostly, my family adjusted to my school needs; it truly was a group effort to accomplish everything that needed to be done. However, there were times when I simply couldn't juggle everything and would have to take a break from classes. Having Laurel as my academic advisor made a world of difference. She was always an email or phone call away and always worked hard to arrange my course schedule, keeping me engaged and focused on graduating.
What are your favorite aspects of the Business program?
Many of the HR courses I completed in the business program provided advice and skills that easily translated to my position. It helped me better understand my company's policies and compensation plans. I also loved learning about real companies that are in business today and their strategies, successes, and failures.
How has your education from Ursuline helped your career?
Earning a bachelor's degree from Ursuline has given me security in my current position and encouragement to explore advancement opportunities in leadership.
