Katie Tuohey earned her doctorate in special education with a focus in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Nova Southeastern University. She received her Master’s in Educational Administration from Cleveland State University and her BA in elementary and special education from the University of Dayton.
Her K-12 experience includes working with individuals with mild to severe needs. Dr. Tuohey has conducted in-service training in behavioral interventions for students with special needs, autism disorders, behavior intervention, functional behavior assessments and issues related to providing support and education for children in K-12 programs. Dr. Tuohey has taught courses in special education, primary and secondary education for both undergraduate and graduate students in the education department. Dr. Tuohey supervises teacher candidates in field and student teaching placements.
Dr. Tuoheys experience is enhanced by connection and membership to state and national educational organizations CEC, OCTEO and the Deans Compact. She is currently the director of special education and chair for the 4+1 education bridge program at Ursuline college and serves on various advisory boards related to education and youth services.
