Rebecca D. Miller, PhD, LPC, ATR-BC, ATCS, earned her PhD in counselor education and supervision at the University of Missouri and her MA in art therapy from New York University. As an art therapy practitioner and supervisor, she has nearly 20 years’ experience working in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, schools, mental health clinics, and private practice. Prior to her appointment at Ursuline, she was assistant professor and interim director of the graduate art therapy program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Her research activities pertain to creativity and expressive arts approaches within art therapy, counseling, and education; professional issues, including supervision and self-care of the practitioner; and women’s issues and empowerment. She enjoys gardening, documentary films, and spending time with her witty spouse, spunky two children, and rotten two cats.
