Why I Chose Ursuline
When I came to an open house event at Ursuline, I was shocked when the department chair greeted me by name. After getting a tour, I really fell in love with the school. Ursuline offered the combination of Counseling and Art Therapy I was looking for. I knew it would help prepare me for licensing as a clinical counselor.
Putting My Ursuline Degree to Work
I was recently accepted into a prestigious artist in residence program at Judson Park retirement community. I live on the premises, and in lieu of rent, I assist the staff art therapist and provide art instruction for five hours a week.
I’m Making My World More…
[Pioneering.] After I graduate, I see myself returning to my native Ethiopia and introducing integrated counseling and art therapy to address psychological and learning difficulties, especially in children. This would be new terrain to explore, as art therapy is not commonly heard of there.
