ReFuge: The Last Days of Wonder

Immerse yourself in an interactive art experience! Conceived and curated by Wasmer Gallery Director Anna Arnold, ReFuge invites you to explore gallery space that has been transformed into a surreal fantasy forest created by Arnold and four invited installation and mixed-media artists from Cuyahoga County who will use recycled materials.
Artists are: Anna Arnold, Joyce Morrow Jones, Jacques Payne Jackson, Claudio Orso, and Ron Shelton.
Opening Reception
Friday, October 22nd, 5:00-7:00 p.m. (Check college website for updates on hours and COVID restrictions. Masks required for all attending.)
Gallery Hours
Tuesday - Thursday, 12:00-5:00 p.m.
The exhibit will close for the Holidays: November 23 - 29 and December 21 through January 3.

Companion Exhibit: The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes
The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes will host a companion exhibit, "Seeking ReFuge," featuring two-dimensional work by these artists who use recycled and mixed media materials. The dates of this intimate show are Sunday, October 17, 2021, through Sunday, January 16, 2022. On October 17, an opening reception from 2:00-4:00 p.m. will be followed by an artists talk at 3:00 p.m.

Both Ursuline and The Nature Center will present public programming related to the exhibits.
“ReFuge: The Last Days of Wonder” is supported in part by the Ohio Arts Council and the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. All exhibits at Ursuline College’s Wasmer Gallery and at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes are free and open to the public.
