The Sacred Self Retreat for Women

    October 19, 2019 9:00am - October 20, 2019 9:00am

The Sacred Self Retreat for Women

In today’s society we often neglect ourselves in favor of taking care of others. But what would our lives be like if we gave ourselves the love we so freely give away? How might our physical and emotional health blossom and how would it benefit those we care for?

At the Sacred Self Retreat, participants will engage in small group dialogue, journaling, and creative pursuits to:

    • Find spiritual connection
    • Develop a stronger sense of identity and purpose
    • Embrace self care and love

With a deep rooted belief in the idea that we are both physical and spiritual beings simultaneously, Retreat guide Gina Messina, PhD, will guide those on the Sacred Self journey in an exploration focused on opportunities for gratitude, resilience, hope, and transcendence.

*Participants are asked to bring an item that has significant value to engage with as part of the self reflection and discovery journey.

    Retreat Guide: Gina Messina, PhD

Gina Messina is on a journey to create the sacred self; a call for each of us to embrace self love and care, to recognize ourselves as sacred beings, and find joy in our relationships with one another. She is committed to social justice and inclusivity and defines spirituality as that which is life giving; an idea she believes can be embraced and incorporated into all religious and philosophical practices. Through her writings, retreats, teaching practices, and spiritual coaching, Gina is a collaborator on the spiritual journey we each find ourselves trekking. Read more about Gina on her website.

    • We are Creative Beings: Many of us have denied our creative abilities based on childhood experiences. The truth is, we are all creative beings and connecting to our creativity is key to spiritual development. Gina will guide participants through exploring creative paths and how those can allow us to transcend the “daily grind.”
    • Love Yourself Fiercely: Building on workshops throughout the retreat, participants will consider what it means to love yourself as Gina offers new approaches to understanding ourselves, recognizing our needs, and celebrating our gifts.
