Summary
Ursuline College seeks bright and energetic individual to join the Office of Undergraduate Admission. The Admission staff contributes greatly to maintaining and enhancing Ursuline’s reputation. Admission Counselors play a vital role in continuing the efforts to present Ursuline College to prospective students and develop programs to assist with their needs. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Admission.
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing and traveling within a domestic recruitment territory (primarily Cleveland and Columbus areas) and developing strategies for improving market share for first-year students. No international travel required. Recruitment activities include high school visits, meetings with school counselors, college fairs, networking with alumnae and faculty, and planning or participating in on/off campus events. Determine student interest from point of inquiry through the deposit stage utilizing telephone, electronic, and written communication, as well as available technology. Serve as academic liaison to select majors. Counsel prospective students and/or families in one-on-one meetings on campus. Review applications and make recommendations on admission.
In addition, assist with the following activities in two primary areas:
- Primary Academic/Faculty Liaison: oversee and develop individual promotion plans for academic programs in partnership with faculty and other admission staff, connect with faculty to discuss best recruitment practices, support content development with faculty, serve as primary point person on academic outcomes and communications.
- International Admission: support all undergraduate international students through the admission and immigration process, maintain SEVIS records and serve as a Designated School Official (DSO), liaise with the Office of Diversity to support currently enrolled international students, create official immigration documents (such as I-20s).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Masters preferred. Previous experience in college admission/higher education or related setting. Preferred skills include: international recruiting and records management, strong copywriting skills, experience with a comprehensive communication plan, event planning, international admissions, and experience with a customer relationship management system such as Technolution’s Slate. Must be highly motivated and energetic, detail oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal communication, writing and presentation skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrated experience working in an inclusive climate.
