Summary
The Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions invites applications for a full-time,12-month faculty for the Graduate Nursing Program. Certification in Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) is required. The position rank is dependent upon experience and may be tenure-track or non-tenure-track. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching the didactic portions of assigned course(s) as well as coordinating the clinical sites and clinical site placements. The faculty member will provide leadership in managing the Adult Gerontology Program into the MSN curriculum. Release time for clinical practice is negotiable. The position is available beginning July 1, 2022 and reports to the Associate Dean of the Graduate Nursing Programs and the Dean of The Breen School of Nursing and Health.
Responsibilities
Maintaining expertise within content and clinical areas taught as well as state of the art teaching practices; Developing the course syllabus according to the course description and objectives approved by the Graduate faculty; Teaching classes and preparing all assessment methodologies; Documenting student issues, particularly in the case of possible course or delays in clinical progression; Updating the use of textbooks and other readings and electronic resources, as necessary. Coordinating and evaluating clinical experiences as well as recruiting qualified preceptors is expected. Serving as an academic advisor and a clinical instructor to assigned students; Attending Graduate Nursing Committee meetings, assigned MSN/DNP subcommittees, The Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions Meetings and Faculty Assembly Committee(s).
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an unencumbered, Ohio RN nursing license as well as an APRN license and must maintain certification as an AGNP. A Doctoral degree: DNP or PhD in nursing required. A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an APRN as an AGACNP is preferred. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in an inclusive setting, and accommodate flexible hours, including evenings/weekends.
